Easter is here!

On Thursday night Caden came over and we died Easter eggs. Thank God we covered our table with butcher paper! Our table would have been as crazy as our eggs. After a lesson in hard boiling eggs from the internet we gave it a shot. An hour and a half later the 3 dozen eggs were boiled and ready to be dipped. Shelby got an agg and a cup of regular water. She never knew the differance. LOL! I (of course) wanted the eggs cute and pretty, the boys however wanted crazy tie-died and multi-colored eggs. They got their chance once I was giving Shelby her bath to re-dip some of my eggs. I was a little -urpted when I noticed what they had done but I was soon reminded that they are just eggs. O-well. That's what I get for leaving the scene.

We all met at my parents house on Saturday for Easter. Luke and Shelby were so much fun. They would run off and play together and have full blown conversations. Not one fight in sight. The climax of the day was when we hid the plastic eggs around the house for the kids to find. They both did really well. Jessica filled them w/ gold fish crackers, teddy grams and trail mix. It was perfect! The kids weren't on a crazy sugar high and we we didn't feel guilty for eating some of the snacks. I was able to get my baby fix with Emma. I held her for as long a s I could. She was fussy sometimes w/ other people but was able to calm down with me. I felt very special. It was actually a rainy day for the most part, but we didn't mind.

Angie and Shelby meet Emma

Emma Jane Villarreal

I met my new niece this weekend! She is as tiny and beautiful as I had imagined. Jess and Phil definitely make some gorgeous babies. I tried to help out by staying up with her till midnight Sun and Monday nights so Phil and Jess could actually sleep in the same bed for the first time in a week. No biggie for me because I usually work till 10pm at night. I spiced things up a bit because Luke had a three day play date w/ Shelby. So we had a 1 1/2 yrs old girl and a 2 yr old boy with a 1 week old. WOW! Jessica calls it "Man on Man Defense" - I call it whose got who?

Shelby watched her like a Hawk!

Shelby is my "Little Mamma". She wanted to hug and kiss and hold baby Emma ALL the time. And if I was holding the baby it got worse-she wanted me to hold her too. She thought Emma was one of her dollies. The funniest thing is that Emma would cry once or twice a night if she was hungry and Shelby would hear her. Then she would pop her head up and look around and say "Baby Emma, Where's baby?". She was completely asleep and yet worried. It was hillarious. . . but only because then she would hit the pillow like a brick. She was still asleep!
(Not so funny if she completely woke up. )
Luke and Shelby had a great weekend playing together. They are at such a fun age. Although defiant sometimes, cute as hell.

The Rodgers Wedding

This weekend we went to a wedding out at Pebble Creek Country Club. I love it out there. We always have a great time. Congrats to Tyler and Kristine Rodgers!!!! I went through the second half of my training and sat next to Kristine for about a year. This was the first time we have gone to a wedding when we haven't known anybody but the bride and groom. It was actually kind of fun. We did whatever we wanted, Shawn didn't ditch me to go hang out with his guy friends and we got to spend time with each other. Go figure. They had some really great new ideas for their wedding. Man. . . things have changed since we got married. They had a photo booth! We had so much fun jumping inside and taking wacky pictures. The company then makes a scrap book with the pictures you want to put in it and people write little messages too. Such a great idea!
The other part of our weekend was spent helping Scott and Stacy get their new house ready to move into. I am a horrific painter so I was trying to help with other things, like driving over loads in my truck. Things are looking really good and they will love being in their own place.

Happy Birthday to Shawn!

This weekend was long and very hectic but we made it through it alive. LOL! Shawn's 28th Birthday was on Friday. We kicked off the weekend having Dinner with Heather and Luke and then got a bunch of friends to burn Christmas trees out by table Mesa road. It was awesome! They burn so fast. It was a great way to relax after a crazy week.

Saturday Shawn had the "Whole Day Batchelor Party" for our good friend Craig Paris. Paintball in Scottsdale from 9am -3pm, enough time to grab lunch, a quick nap and a shower, then back to the party. Dinner at Padre Murphey's and to watch the UFC fight. Then to the casino for some blackjack or what-have-you, followed by two "ladies" bars. Wink-Wink. (Man, ya just gotta! Isn't there a rule or something about having to see at least one naked girl at a batchelor party) I am the type of girl who doesn't mind.

While Shawn was busy running around I was able to give the house a good scrubbin and actually grab a beer with some friends. I didn't plan on going but after cleaning my butt off I felt a cold beer was well deserved. Don't freak out. . . I was in bed fast asleep, sober sleep, by 11:45pm.

Sunday we just putzed around the house. OH-YEA and the Cardinals are going to the freaking Super Bowl!!!!!! I think the devil needs a parka because hell has frozen over. After that jaw dropper we went to a BBQ to hang out with some of my new co-workers. I have recently been put into a new unit at work. Not really a promotion but more of a step in a great direction. More details after my first week on the phones. LOL! The BBQ was fun. We headed home by 7 and had a laid back night.
Monday night we went over to Shawn's Mom and Dad's for a birthday dinner. Mmmmmm! Steak and Cheesey Potatoes. Patty made a kick ass "Aquarium: Fish Tank" cake. It was really cute.

Let me catch you up . . .

So we have been very busy. Let have an instant re-play to catch you up to speed.

Shelby's new room turned out great! Her favorite is her new canopy tent. She is always in it playing with her dolls or pretending to read books. Her new bedding is perfect and very girly.

Christmas was a very busy but we all had a really good time. It is always fun spending time with my family. Thank you to everyone who got presents for Shelby. She is having a ball reading her books, coloring and playing with her toys. I had to work Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve and New Years Day. But double time is worth it. The pay check was nice.

New Years Eve
Eric and Amanda had a great party. I got off work at 10pm and jetted over to their house for the night. Patty watched Shelby so we were baby free! It was a little chili but nothing extreme. All our friends were there and we had a blast. It is so hard to get all the girls in a pic, this is as close as I got on my camera. LOL! Where's Stacy . . . I think she was chasing Alyssa in the house.

Saturday Afternoon was Luke's 2nd Birthday Party

I spent about 2 1/2 days in Tucson helping my sister get ready for Luke's Birthday party. She is about 8 months pregnant; in addition to the help she probably enjoyed my company. LOL, I just mean another adult around during the day. We went to a "Meet Up Moms" get together at "Pump It Up". Shelby did OK. She was pretty overwhelmed though and was very clingy. Luke had a ball. He goes down the huge slides and through the obstacle course like a pro. I was very impressed! The kids really bonded this weekend. They were so cute! The party was a hit! All of the perfect party elimants; Eegies, Cake, Pinata and Playtime. Seeing Luke hit the home-made Shrek pinata makes me predict he will be a very good baseball player. You should have seen him. . . ONE HANDED!

Saturday Night was Jared and Sam's Wedding Reception
We jetted back up to Phoenix. Our good friends Jared and Sam got married in Turks and Cacaos about a month ago. They took 20 of their closest family and friends w/ them to say "I Do" Then came back and planned a really fun party. We decided to bring Shelby to the party to show her off. She has been sick lately so she wasn't her normal self but she still did well for 18 months. (Man do I look Tired) Two parties in two different cities will do that to a girl.

And finally on Sunday we had Alyssa's 3rd Birthday Party

Scott and Stacy decided to have a small pizza party for Alyssa this year. Her birthday is New Years Eve so they try and space out the party by having it on another weekend. I spent the morning at Heather's house helping her decorate the cake. It turned out amazing and I was so proud to say that I helped, just like a kid. The theme was Strawberry Shortcake and it took about 2 1/2 hrs to finish. The kids had already eaten some of the green balls around the bottom. They were fondant. She got some really cute presents and tore through them like a mad woman. She had a really good time.

Thanks for having us over!

It snuck up on me. . . I swear!

So as much as I love Christmas I would love to push it back about a week. I bought my last two gifts today. Thank GOD! I am excited to see all of Shawn's family that are coming into town. They are a lot of fun. I had an extreme blond moment and forgot to request Christmas off. Which I totally would have got, if I had only asked. But I have a great opportunity to make some really good money: Double-time Baby! I only work 12:30-6:30. That's not too bad. Then I have a three day weekend. Fri, Sat and I got Sunday off. Woo-Hoo.
Friday is the Snider Christmas. I am gonna squeeze baby Luke soo hard his cheeks turn red. He is so stink'in cute. I can't wait to see what everyone got. Not me- everyone else. The older I get the less I really care what I get for Christmas. Talk about getting older. I jumped straight to geriactrics. LOL! I can't wait to see Shelby on her scooter tomorrow. We put it out a day early. Shawn and I are going to put her new Big-Girl Pink room together in the morning. She will LOVE it.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. Make special memories with your families and take a but-load of pictures of your children (if you have them). Say "Thank you " for every singe gift you receive this year. Remember it's a Recession People. And maybe actually be greatful that you have someone and something to be thankful for this year.

Getting Ready for Christmas

The tree is up, the "Nick-Knacks" are out and the lights have been hung. All without any injuries. Can you believe it? We are slowly getting into the spirit but at least we are headed in the right direction. For example on Saturday I will be going to a women's brunch with my mom and sister at 9:30am, then going to a cookie exchange at 11, followed by the USAA's Children's Holiday Party from 1-4pm and then coming home to change, breath and dress my daughter and husband for Debb's annual boat parade/ holiday party on the water. My guess is that I will pass out by 8pm on Debb's couch and will have to be dragged home like a dead corpse. I hope Shawn can carry my butt. Maybe a cocktail or two will keep me going. We will have to see.

I was able to order all of Shelby's new bedding and it is perfect. My vision for her room is all coming together. I will have to schedule my personal Handy-Man to make the appropriate adjustments in regards to shelving, frames and her new canopy leaves. It's gonna be awesome! I will post a picture when we are done. I am thinking sometime after New Years. She will finally have a "Little Girl's Room". I went way to practical with the farm. (Although I do LOVE it) And it sounds like practical and neutral were unnecessary because Shawn doesn't want anymore children. O-well.
